This Friday is officially the starting day of summer holidays in France as well as in the north provinces of the Netherlands whereas, in Belgium, the holidays have started for a few days now.
As a consequence, this first weekend of July is the first of summer holidays. We should then expect a lot of people on the roads leading to south of France and on highways to the French and the Belgian cost in general.
In Île-de-France, the first fridays of July are part of the heaviest days of the year because of the traffic jams due to the home-work trips and the general economic activity in Paris. Furthermore, the travellers are increasing the slow traffic which is mainly located in the east of French capital city.
Saturday is always a difficult day in summer times in France. More especially in region Île-de-France and in region Rhône-Alpes. Traffic in both regions is considered as red on friday and saturday while the rest of the country will be orange in the way of departures.
The color will be the same in region Île-de-France on sunday, still for departures, whereas other regions in France should not undergo big traffic issues.
